MU-WETTER PROXY & VPN BYPASS GUIDE

WHAT IS THIS GOOD FOR?
In certain regions (such as Russia), direct connections to public weather and mapping APIs (like Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap Nominatim) are blocked or restricted without a VPN.
The proxy feature allows mu-wetter to route its API requests through an intermediate web server located in an unrestricted region, enabling users to fetch weather data without needing a personal VPN client.

HOW TO SET UP YOUR OWN PROXY (FOR USERS WITH A HOMEPAGE)
If you have your own web hosting/homepage with PHP support and want to help other users by hosting a public proxy, you do not need deep PHP knowledge! Simply follow these steps:

1. CONNECT TO YOUR WEB SERVER
Use an FTP client (such as gFTP, FileZilla) or SSH/SFTP to connect to your web hosting account.

2. CREATE A PUBLIC DIRECTORY
Navigate to your public web root folder (e.g., public_html, www, or htdocs) and create a folder named `muwetter` (resulting in https://yourdomain.com/muwetter/).

3. UPLOAD THE PROXY SCRIPTS
Upload the two pre-written PHP files included with mu-wetter into that folder:
   - proxy-meteo.php
   - proxy-nominatim.php

4. SHARE OR USE YOUR PROXY
That's it! Your proxy is now ready. You (or other users) can enter your URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/muwetter/) into the mu-wetter proxy settings listbox.

Thank you for helping the community stay connected!
